TeaTime for Change: Sit Down with your MP @teatime4change

Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 31:9
On Thursday 9 June 2011, ActionAid, CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam, Save the Children and Tearfund will be creating a giant tea room in the heart of Westminster – and you’re invited! But this isn’t just a cosy cuppa. It’s your opportunity to tell your MP how you feel about tackling global poverty.

Sit down with your MP, stand up for justice.

We’ll be asking our MPs to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most, to tackle corruption by shining a light on the payments companies make to poor countries, and find new and fair ways of funding development.

So by sitting down with your MP, you’ll be standing with poor communities and taking global poverty to the heart of government. With inspiring speakers, a time for worship, informative workshops and campaign cakes, it’s all brewing up to be a great day – so click here to sign up now!

Read more from on the Tea Time for Change site, or sign up to attend with Tear Fund on their website and lobby your MP to take part. There’s also a Twitter account (or search for the hashtag #tt4c) and Facebook page.
