Wisdom, truth and wit (Kathryn Price)
Posted on August 31, 2014 | No CommentsIn Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle, there is an exchange between Simon Chachava, a soldier, and Azdak, the village clerk (aka judge) that is a series of local proverbs: When the horse was shod, the horsefly stretched out its […] -
The need for loving commentary (@headphonaught)
Posted on August 22, 2014 | No CommentsI have a confession to make and this time it doesn’t involve an obsession with something pretentious: I love reading the comments. Not the comments on my posts because nobody cares enough to tell me what they think of what […] -

Posted on August 14, 2014 | No CommentsSocial media is full of words – funny, sad, silly, wise, cruel, kind, judgemental, helpful, beautiful, ugly. Posting on Twitter, Facebook and all the rest is so quick, it’s easy to say things we later regret. How many times […] -
A measure of trust (@clairemaxim1)
Posted on August 13, 2014 | 1 CommentDaily Prayer in Common Worship (I seem to be particularly Anglican today, do bear with me), includes one of my favourite bits of Proverbs every Monday. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” says the first part of Proverbs […] -
Top Google suggestion: “Bible is fake” (@andersorsander)
Posted on August 11, 2014 | No Comments“The Bible is fake”. That’s the top suggestion from Google UK, the following being “b******t”, “not relevant today” and finally “the Word of God”. I find this relevant to anyone interested in online ministry. The auto suggest from Google is […]
