Thank you all for your patience this year, as CODEC has been working hard in the background. Pete Phillips has been working particularly hard on fundraising and ensuring that CODEC becomes a formal research centre of Durham University (which essentially means recognition, and access to far more funding possibilities). Read more on the blog, where there’ll soon be details of our new staff, including:

JoshMannIntroducing Josh Mann @beJLM

Having spent the past two years working toward a PhD at the University of Edinburgh, I am pleased to begin working as the research fellow in biblical literacy at CODEC. Alongside my research in New Testament, I enjoy exploring ways to engage with others at the intersection of Bible, theology, and digital.

Future plans for #bigbible & #digidisciple

With a new remit for CODEC, new staff, this seems a great point to look back at what we’ve been doing with @bigbible, which started in summer 2010, introducing it’s first #digidisciple(s) in summer 2011, congratulate ourselves on great work done and thinking where this work goes next.

Our new team are only just starting today, so we’ve got planning meetings ahead to think how things will work (we’re anticipating a day awash with post-it notes), so we can’t be 100% clear about how this looks yet. This does mean that now is a good chance to feed in thoughts as to what you’ve enjoyed, what you’d like to see more of, and what you think there could be less of.

Josh will developing the biblical literacy aspects, and therefore taking over archive.bigbible.uk and @bigbible.
Bex will be developing the discipleship in a digital age aspects, and as a first step has created @digidisciple as a Twitter account.
