The Paradox of Faith (@jhosborn)
Posted on October 26, 2015 | No CommentsNahum is a book of paradox. Nahum the prophet asserts both the goodness and mercy of God the father at the same time as describing the terrible fate which God has brought about on those who do not recognise him […] -
Jonah – not a glory story (@JHOsborn)
Posted on August 26, 2015 | No CommentsJonah is one of my favourites. I love it because he is a complete failure, a full-on turncoat and yet God doesn’t let him go. I heard a sermon at the beginning of this year on Jonah and the point […] -
Amos – prophet with a punch! (@JHosborn)
Posted on June 26, 2015 | No Comments“I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image […] -

Playing the Waiting Game: Esther (@JHOsborn)
Posted on May 15, 2014 | No CommentsI’ve read and written an awful lot about waiting. I fully believe waiting is a spiritual discipline. Waiting on God is hard because he doesn’t work to our timetable! I don’t know about you, but my life is full […] -
Nehemiah: wall builder and party thrower extraordinaire! (@JHOsborn)
Posted on April 26, 2014 | No CommentsThe people who had returned to Jerusalem with Nehemiah and Ezra found themselves part of a pioneering movement to not only physically restore God’s city but also bring their own hearts for restoration. Returning from Babylonian exile demanded a renewal […] -
Love Is All You Need or Thoughts on a >2000 yr old Wallbuilder (JenniOsborn)
Posted on March 20, 2014 | 1 CommentToday I’ve not only read Ezra but also Tom Wright’s translation and commentary of 1 John and it’s surprising how well they dovetail. The opening verses of 1 John are about Love and the kind of love that marks followers […] -
1 Chronicles: The Next Generation (@JHOsborn)
Posted on January 20, 2014 | No CommentsThere’s a lot that happens in 1 Chronicles! And I’ve read a lot from fellow #DigiDisciples about knowing where we come from; a sense of belonging is crucial to our sense of self; the importance of knowing whose shoulders we […]
